Jerry's Poem

song books and music
quick notes gliding
past my face
my body
a poem to my brother
rests clear sprung
anti-entropic.
UN badge on a calendar
a psalm unread
"Send forth your light..."
grace from nowhere
everywhere.
drunk with the day
out of bed but only
for the moment
waiting for the water to boil
sitting close
to speakers i
pick up my guitar and i
play along
string to string
fret by fret.
Jerry's poem satisfied
only because i
believe it to be
and i'll be too busy
again today
to phone
to tell him hello and
in constant similarity
love
enjoy us.
